We offer professional development and workplace training for organisations supporting people with psychosocial disability. Our training is designed specifically for NDIS providers, disability support workers, recovery coaches, and community service teams who work with participants experiencing mental health challenges.

Drawing on more than 15 years of experience in the mental health and community services sector, our training combines practical knowledge, evidence-informed approaches, and real-world experience from frontline work. Sessions are engaging, interactive, and focused on building the confidence and capability of staff working in complex support environments.

Our training programs cover key areas including trauma-informed practice, recovery-oriented support, responding to mental health crises, suicide awareness, professional boundaries, documentation and case notes, communication with participants experiencing distress, and preventing worker burnout and vicarious trauma.

Training can be delivered as short workshops, half-day professional development sessions, or full-day programs tailored to the needs of your organisation and workforce. Trauma-Informed Practice for Disability Support Workers

Many people with psychosocial disability have experienced significant trauma. Without the right knowledge, well-intentioned support can unintentionally trigger distress or retraumatise participants.

This workshop equips disability support workers, recovery coaches, and support coordinators with practical trauma-informed approaches for everyday support work. Participants will learn how trauma affects behaviour, communication, and emotional regulation, and how to create safe, respectful, and empowering support environments.

The training focuses on real scenarios commonly encountered in NDIS services and provides practical tools workers can apply immediately in their roles.

Learning outcomes

Participants will learn to:

  • understand how trauma impacts behaviour and mental health

  • recognise trauma responses in participants

  • respond to distress in a safe and supportive way

  • build trust and psychological safety in support relationships

  • apply trauma-informed principles in everyday practice

De-escalation and Managing Aggressive or Distressed Behaviour

Support workers regularly encounter situations where participants become highly distressed, angry, or emotionally escalated. Knowing how to respond calmly and safely is essential for protecting both participants and staff.

This practical workshop provides evidence-informed strategies for recognising early signs of escalation and responding effectively to challenging situations. Participants will learn communication techniques and de-escalation skills that reduce conflict and support safe outcomes.

The training focuses on proactive strategies that help prevent incidents and build positive relationships with participants.

Learning outcomes

Participants will learn to:

  • recognise early warning signs of escalation

  • use communication strategies that calm distressed situations

  • apply practical de-escalation techniques

  • maintain personal and participant safety

  • respond appropriately following incidents

Suicide Awareness and Responding to Suicide Risk

Many NDIS participants experience periods of emotional distress and may disclose thoughts of suicide. Disability workers often feel unsure how to respond safely and appropriately.

This workshop provides practical guidance on recognising suicide warning signs and having supportive conversations with participants experiencing suicidal thoughts. Participants will develop confidence in responding compassionately while understanding their professional boundaries and escalation pathways.

The training emphasises safe responses, participant support, and worker wellbeing.

Professional Boundaries in Psychosocial Support Work

Working closely with participants can create complex professional relationships. Maintaining clear and ethical boundaries is essential for protecting both participants and workers.

This workshop explores common boundary challenges in disability services and provides practical strategies for maintaining professional, respectful support relationships.

Participants will examine real-world scenarios involving dual relationships, financial boundaries, emotional attachment, and social media interactions.

Participants will learn to:

  • understand the importance of professional boundaries

  • identify situations where boundaries may become blurred

  • manage emotional attachment and dependency

  • respond to boundary challenges ethically and confidently

  • maintain safe and professional relationships with participants

Documentation, Case Notes and Defensible Record Keeping

Clear, accurate documentation is essential for quality service delivery, participant safety, and NDIS compliance. Poor documentation can place organisations and workers at risk during audits, complaints, or incident investigations.

This workshop teaches practical skills for writing professional case notes and documenting support interactions effectively. Participants will learn how to record observations objectively and produce documentation that meets professional and organisational standards.

Participants will learn to:
